A German TV crew had visited us and briefly featured (LINK) our dear friend and capoeira instructor Richard and his grandmother who live in Mountain View/East Kingston. Michael S. from Germany was moved by their difficult living situation and sent a generous donation to help improve their living condition and explore long-term income-generating possibilities.
After mobilizing volunteers among our Capoeira Alafia / Cativeiro Capoeira Jamaica family, we purchased building materials and renovated a section of the house that had collapsed and was leaking water heavily through the roof. Richard is organizing himself to utilize the remaining funds to establish a micro-business which will allow for long-term revenue.
